Bio:

I photograph motherhood in a timeless and iconic style so your children and grandchildren can cherish the legacy you have provided for them for years from now. I find that photos that capture relationships and connection are not only classic, but they speak to the heart the most.

My love for newborn and motherhood photography began when I had my own son, Perry. I soon realized how fleeting each moment, day, week and month was as they passed me by. I wished that I had more photographs of Perry when he was in each stage. I wanted to remember every detail – from the size of his food to his first smile. I knew that I wanted to capture families as they grew so they would have a legacy to show their children and pass on to the next generation. The way new parents look adoringly at their children, the giggles escaping from a rambunctious toddler, those scared moments of peace in the whirlwind of parenthood – I wanted to invest in memories.

Session Details:

This maternity session was a joy to photograph. Lisa, her husband Mitch, and son Lucas recently moved into their new home and were eagerly awaiting baby number tow, so it was just natural to photograph them in the beautiful space they would bring baby home to.

I really enjoyed capturing Lisa by herself because I think it portrays that waiting period every mother experiences before meeting her baby for the first time. “When I do get a moment to finally breathe on my own and soak in what’s happening, it hits me. I’m having a baby. Motherhood is hard, but when I look at my son, I’m so proud of him. I am so happy to be his mom.”

I think these words from Lisa can resonate with many new mothers as they wade through the waters of motherhood. Although the path is not well-lit, we each find our way – with the help of some smiles from our little ones.
