Jess Cattles is fine art newborn & maternity photographer known for her creative twist on classic timeless portraits both in studio and on location. Jess Cattles Photography is a full-service photographer based in Columbia, SC, who serves South Carolina state wide.
About the Session:
This session is a motherhood session located at Historic Columbia’s Seibels House and Gardens on a cloudy cool February morning. I wanted this session to feel classical to match the location, almost as if we were stepping back in time. I truly wanted the session to capture this sweet mama and her three littles in a way that made her feel special, beautiful, and highlight the love she has for children. We played blocks, looked out the window for birds, swirled through the ballroom. Creating the setting for our sweet mama and her littles, allowed us to create dreamy intimate imagery.
Mothers dress, sweet little girl’s bubble, and baby’s outfit are all from my client closet. Mothers dress is Worth Collective & the bubble is Feltman Brothers. Baby girl’s outfit is a vintage find.

A Piece of Advice from Jess:
A helpful tip, I myself was recently reminded of myself, (by a sweet friend and fellow photographer) was to figure out what you love to photograph. If you haven’t figured out exactly what makes your heart sing, photograph it all until it becomes clear. If you find you love photographing mothers and her children in floral filled gardens. SHOOT IT and SHOW IT. Create the work you wish to shoot over and over again and share it. People book the kind of session they see, allowing your work to bring you joy.
