Bio:

I am a military spouse and mother of soon to be three babies! Based out of Southern California, my primary focus is photographing motherhood and families with my favorite medium of choice; film. I am a homebody who LOVES couch snuggles and a good movie but don’t mind occasionally morphing into an adrenaline junkie when it involves hiking, or hanging off of cliffs! I’m big on self-reliance and HATE spending money, so if I can find a way to make it for cheap, or do it myself, I will! When I’m not working, you can find me behind my sewing machine, making clothes for my little ones out of fabric picked up and repurposed from goodwill… or snacking. Food is a love language in and of itself.. am I right?

Session Details:

As photographers, most of us start out intending to document our families a little better because we realize how fleeting all the moments and memories with out little ones can be. Eventually, we become in love with meeting others, and serving in general as we morph to photographing other’s families for a source of income. It become easy then, to phase out of documenting our families as much because we are already “working” outside of the home, and documenting our families begins to feel a little more like work than it does creativity. I began noticing when my husband was deployed last year, how much I was putting off pictures of my own family simply because I didn’t want to feel like I was working at home. I was already acting as a single parent doing my job and then some. Playing both mom and dad, that adding any more tasks to my plate seemed impossible. BUT I recognized, it wouldn’t always be this way. Soon he’d be home and I’d have help. And I didn’t want to look back with the regret of NOT documenting the strength and beauty that came from such a difficult time in life. So… I became more intentional throughout the months to pull out my camera a little more.
