What’s in your camera bag & what’s your favorite lens?
I always have my canon Mark IV body, a 50 mm 1.2 and a 35 mm 1.4 in my camera bag, along with a bunch of other necessities! I always have a plethora of memory cards and batteries, tiny first aid kit, allergy medications, and treats for the kids! My favorite lens is definitely by far my 50 mm! I use it almost the entire session.
Who inspires you?
Moms. They somehow can always find the joy in everything and appreciate the smallest of beautiful moments. I feel like being a mom myself is what helps me find the special, soft moments during a session. The ones we sometimes forget about but love to have captured for a lifetime!
What makes your brand unique?
The authenticity in the moments I capture. Yes, I direct you and prompt you but 90 % of the images you receive are real laughs, real joy, just REAL. I love to capture, what I call, the in “between moments.” When a little kid is crying and just wants to snuggle their mama or one is throwing a fit and just needs some soft words spoken to them off to the side. Those are my favorite to capture.
What’s your favorite aspect of your business?
My favorite part is being able to capture families and moments in ways that may surprise you. Nothing is more satisfying than when my client’s see themselves through a different lens and realize how beautiful and special their lives and families are. Gifting captured moments is the BEST part.
What business advice would you give to someone overwhelmed with starting out?
Take time to find your niche! Don’t worry about competition and take the time to focus on what makes you stand out. It takes TIME to build a business. So make whatever you do your best and don’t worry about everyone else.
What’s your Starbucks drink?
Iced shaken espresso with white mocha and a splash of heavy cream. So YUM!
