Bio Hi, I’m Laura Ryan, a Motherhood and Newborn Photographer serving Charleston, SC and the surrounding areas. My passion for photography, specifically motherhood photography, came out of a season of grief after we miscarried our first baby in 2014. I needed to do something good – I needed to celebrate life. And since that day, I’ve been doing just that! When I’m not photographing families, you can most likely find me hanging out with my handsome husband, chasing my fearless two year old around, and plotting my next trip to Chick-Fil-A. We are an Air Force family, so our life is a little more unpredictable than most, but it’s allowed us to meet the most amazing people, travel, and live in places we wouldn’t otherwise.
Session: Daniel Island, SC I feel like I say this a lot, but this session was straight out of a dream for me…and the reason I fell in love with outdoor photography. Prior to moving to Charleston, 90% of my work was all indoors, but when we moved to Charleston I knew that was likely going to change. There is just something to be said for the Charleston backdrops!
One day while exploring our new city with my family, I found this area on Daniel Island by accident. I think every 10 feet I must have said, “this…this is the perfect spot.” So you can imagine my excitement when my clients told me that trail was one of their favorite spots. Chelsea and her husband, Nick, were such a joy to work with. They were beaming with excitement as they awaited the arrival of their first baby, and their connection was so sweet to witness. Chelsea wore a simple off-the-shoulder gown from Pink Blush Maternity and was absolutely stunning!
