What is your favorite thing to do when you aren't working?
When I’m not working you can find me sitting on Wrightsville Beach with a good book! I am lucky enough to live just 5 minutes from the beach, so even when I am working or have a busy day with sessions I try my very best to take a walk to the beach every morning to clear my head and start the day with some salty air!
Who inspires you?
Although it seems cliche and perhaps a common answer, the one person who continues to inspire me personally and professionally is my mom. When I look at all she’s accomplished and the way she carries herself, I strive to be the best I can because of her. Her positive influence has shaped who I am as Caroline and as Caroline Jean Photography. But most importantly, she has shown me unconditional love and has instilled the importance of being an empowered woman in this world.
What makes your brand unique?
I believe my love for family connection paired with simple and classic portraits make my brand unique.
What is your favorite aspect of your business and what you do?
My absolute favorite aspect of my business is client relationships - being able to document someone's motherhood journey and deliver such cherished images of pregnancy, newborn and milestone portraits brings me such joy! These clients turned friends come back year after year for my luxury experience, which is the ultimate compliment in my book.
What business advice would you give to someone overwhelmed and just starting out?
Someone told me early on that if I have the heart, dedication, drive and willingness to both fail and succeed that my business will flourish. It's important to remember that the most successful business owners can be overwhelmed and get lost in the hustle of running a sustainable and profitable business. It's key to stay true to yourself, your brand, and continue to pursue what makes YOU happy as a photographer.
