Hey there! My name is Michela Watson and I’m a fine art wedding and portrait photographer currently based in Central Virginia. My sweet husband, Joey, and I live in a cute loft with our 2 year old golden pup, Hank. I’m a newlywed myself, which has introduced an entirely new perspective into my passion for my work. As a photographer, my goal is always to make clients feel their best, truest self in front of my lens while also documenting beautiful, meaningful memories that will be handed down for generations.Session Details:
There’s such an appreciation in my heart for the depth of beauty within motherhood, so much so that I was craving to document it through my lens. I began crafting a vision in my mind of how to take a rather ambiguous reverence for motherhood and translate it into tangible moments I could document with film. I had purchased this vintage sheer dress from Gossamer a few months prior, just waiting for the right opportunity to incorporate it into my work. I love how it subtly frames Kasey’s belly while bringing a feminine, refined, organic quality to the images. We met at the brand new Ivy Rose Barn in southwest Virginia and were greeted with the most beautiful evening light. I chose to introduce a humble element into the styling with the chin-tie straw hat, a nod to the past which I often draw inspiration from. Kasey is pregnant with twin boys, so we chose to use a soft, beautiful blue chiffon ribbon in the hat for a few frames, while keeping a neutral ribbon on hand for some variety. I’m so happy with not only how the images turned out, but also how the simple elements draw your eye to Kasey without overwhelming the true purpose for this session.
