Bio:
Marie Tilkens is a luxury, fine art motherhood photographer based out of Washington, DC. A lover of both film and digital, Marie adores the opportunity to photograph motherhood with an elegant and refined touch. She is a co-founder of The Kindred Path, a photographic journal celebrating family photography, from the lovely details to the beautiful chaos. Marie’s work has been featured on The Motherhood Anthology, The Fount Collective The White Wren, The Kindred Path, and La Peche Journal. An old-world romantic, Marie loves to travel and admire classic architecture, but these days you’ll often find her navigating motherhood, chasing her two – very busy – toddlers.
Session Details:
I’m an old-world romantic, so this session felt like a dream! Nestled in the heart of DC, Tudor Place exudes timeless elegance. It was so easy to forget we were in the city; rather, it felt like we were enjoying an evening in Europe! Lisa is a second-time mom, so it was so fun to pamper her for the session. I find so much beauty in motherhood – although the day-to-day is anything but glamorous, the core of motherhood holds a rich bounty. It is this intrinsic beauty that I find so much joy in bringing to life through motherhood photography.
