Marie Elizabeth Photography | Washington, D.C.

Bio:

Marie Tilkens is a luxury, fine art motherhood photographer based out of Washington, D.C. A lover of both film and digital, Marie adores the opportunity to photograph motherhood with an elegant and refined touch. She is a co-founder of The Kindred Path, a photographic journal celebrating family photography, from the lovely details to the beautiful chaos. Marie's work has been featured on The Motherhood Anthology, The Fount Collective, The White Wren, The Kindred Path, and La Peche Jounral. An old-world romantic, Marie loves to travel and admire classic architecture, but these days you'll often find her navigating motherhood, chasing her two (very) busy toddlers.

Session Details:

This was the very first season I photographed in my garden studio, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Karima, a second time mom, was the most deserving mama. It is so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day of toddler life that it is difficult to stop and soak in the sacred time of a second pregnancy. Not only was she the sweetest person to photograph, but Karima has spent the last year working in the ICU during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am so inspired by her incredible strength and perseverance as an expecting mother in such an integral role. It was an honor to photograph this beautiful season for her. Film scanned by PhotoVision Prints. Gown & Robe by Kafemme. Hair & Make-Up by Lori Nansi. Backdrop by Hilary Katherine Beall, Studio Artist.
