Bio:
Hello, I’m Lauren Sosler, an Asheville based hybrid newborn & motherhood photographer. I’m a mama of three, coffee enthusiast, & lover of all things simple & feminine. I strive to create nostalgic imagery through genuine connection & emotive posing. My photography journey began over 15 years ago leading me to study Photojournalism where I developed a love for film photography. However, I didn’t create a business until after becoming a mother in 2016 and slowly started implementing film in my work over the years. My long term dream and goal is to shoot all film photography in a light filled studio space of my own.
Session Details:
This beautiful family entrusted me with a one year baby package; I was hired for maternity, newborn, milestone & first birthday portraits. This was an add on family session because they recently moved to Asheville & fell in love with the local blooms and mountains, so we had to document it. They walked and played amongst the flowers with their sweet dog, Saddie and 3 month old daughter, Liliana. My focus was on Mama’s connection with her growing daughter but I made sure to photograph them as a family. At the very end of the session, they allowed me to play with my new Mamiya 645 AF camera, which was very difficult to focus but I fell in love with the colorful landscape and grainy out of focus Mama with baby – it feels perfectly imperfect & nostalgic, two of my favorite things.
