MEET SAMANTHA
Samantha Look is a film photographer based in San Francisco focused on creating timeless images with a laid back feel.
About the Session:
This Baker Beach session was the final session as part of my first year collection with this family. We had a beautiful sunset and weather and a happy one year old.

Gear used:
Hasselblad H2 film camera with 80mm lens
Sony a7 IV with 50mm lens
This session was shot one hour before sunset on mostly Portra 400 120 film. I typically rate my film around 200 and develop normally. There are also a few digital images mixed in edited with The Archetype Process Fuji 400H with tweaks.
A Piece of Advice from Samantha:
Many of my clients want photos at this beach because of the iconic Golden Gate bridge in the background but it’s not the easiest place for a session. The weather is cold and windy and the sun sets in front of the bridge making for harsh lighting and shadows when it is sunny. October is typically the best month to get good weather and good lighting. When all the stars align it makes for a magical session!
