What is in your camera bag?
I have a Canon Mark III and a Canon Mark IV that I love. I shoot mostly with my 50mm lens and my 24-105mm lens. My 50mm lens is definitely my fave!!
What is your favorite thing to do when you aren’t working?
My favorite thing to do when I’m not working is spending time with my family, traveling, and lounging on the beach or out in our boat. We live on the coast of NC, so we enjoy being on the water. But we equally love the NC mountains and try to get there often!
Who inspires you?
My branding clients and my coaching students truly inspire me. Being able to dig into their businesses, I see all the good stuff and the hard stuff. We all know entrepreneurship is tough…watching them all push through the challenges is always inspiring. We are women, moms, business owners, daughters, sisters, wives…wearing all the hats and also running successful businesses….this sisterhood fuels my passion for what I do.
What makes your brand unique?
I think what makes my brand unique is that I’m doing something most photographers in my area aren’t doing. I’m serving mostly female owned businesses and i’m speaking to mainly women in business, using a mix of masculine and feminine energy and that makes me unique.
What is your favorite aspect of your business and what you do?
My favorite aspect of my business is that every single shoot is unique. No two are alike and I LOVE that! I love the challenge of telling a Brand’s story in a variety of visual ways. Working with female entrepreneurs is inspiring and kicks my creativity into high gear!
What business advice would you give to someone overwhelmed and just starting out?
If you are overwhelmed as you are getting started, I would recommend that you get really good at doing the basics. Build a strong foundation with your workflow and client experience and you will build a thriving business. We often chase after the next shiny thing in business or we see someone else doing something new and we chase after that too…put your blinders on and get really good at serving your clients well and you’ll create a client journey where they will come back again and again and generate referrals for you over and over again!
