Bio:

I’m a motherhood and family photographer based in Richmond, VA. I went to school for Photography and Art History at SCAD. The first ten years of my professional career were spent at various museums across the east coast. When I began my own journey to motherhood, it did not come easily. I was met with multiple losses, setbacks and disappointments. My faith, my husband, and my camera saw me through those isolating four years. Being able to document the joy for other women I so desperately desired for myself helped to heal my heart.

The Lord’s faithfulness and steadfastness endured and I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters. It is never lost on me what an immense honor it is to walk alongside other women on their journeys and to serve them with tangible memories for their own family legacy.

Session Details:

Mom to be, Tanya, had reached out to me exactly one week before this session to inquire about maternity and newborn services. Her due date is fast approaching, so I had recommended that we probably get together sooner than later for her maternity session. Little did either of us know the beautiful blanket of white that would coat the capital city just days later. I saw the forecast on a Saturday evening and texted to see if her and husband, Adam would be willing to be a little adventurous. Tanya, who originally hails from Russia, was thrilled at the prospect of a romantic and snowy maternity session. The temperature hovered around 24 degrees and the snow turned to ice the moment we began our session. The cold was biting and the sleet was relentless, but this mama was as elegant as you can imagine. Dad to be, Adam took the pups back to the car while Tanya and I pressed on a bit longer for these stunning portraits. I was so impressed with her endurance and grace. Never once did she complain! I am sure it will make for a wonderful story to tell her daughter one day!
