Bio:

Hi I'm Jenny from Jenny Jean Photography. I am a fine art photographer based out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I have been married to my sweet husband for 8 years and we are the proud of two little boys. I left my office job four years ago and I have been doing photography full time ever since. I create heirloom imagery for my clients by taking an artful approach to photography. I combine the use of digital and film photography to turn moments into memories. I am in love with all the nuances of film - the way it captures light, the way it renders color, the softness and grain that makes images feel poetic and painterly. I just love it! I am passionate about photographing meaningful moments in a beautiful way and I feel so blessed to be in the profession of documenting human connection. 

Session Details:

I was so excited when Mary booked me for her maternity session! She was pregnant with her second son and wanted to document her pregnancy prior to his arrival. Choosing a location that would convey the magical feeling of celebrating motherhood and pregnancy was important to me, so we ended up going to a spot that overlooked the beautiful river valley. The light was soft and glowy and Mary's dress danced in the breeze. I shot Fuji 400H film at 1/60 of a second and I adore how this captured movement in Mary's dress as it fluttered in the wind. Film has a way of adding depth and dimension to images that I just love! One of the highlights of this session for me was documenting heartfelt moments between Mary and her first born son, Briggs... soaking up every minute while it's just the two of them before baby brother arrives.
