Bio:
I was born and raised in Las Vegas and moved to the Midwest (Kansas City) six years ago. I love how friendly everyone is! I am obsessed with Seinfeld, 70's era music & 90's R&B, and would trade sweet for salty any day of the week. I consider myself a lifelong learner, and have studied the arts from the time I was a child until my formal art education in college (art major, here!). I especially love how art ties in with every subject, even fascinatingly enough - math and science! I infuse what I have learned through the years in my photography style, which is light yet vibrant. I have been professionally shooting for fourteen years and specialize in family, maternity and lifestyle newborn sessions.
Session Details:
Sasha is a fun and dedicated mother of two kids, and balances motherhood with her career of being a Psychiatrist. She wanted a family photo session that paid homage to her and her husband's wedding (especially because shortly after they celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary.). She chose gorgeous, traditional Pakistani dresses for her and her daughter, and we made sure to include plenty of twirls to show off the fabric... as well as the fun they were having! Because this session was taken in the winter, it was especially important to choose a location and time of day that capitalized on the beautiful sunlight, to provide bright and warm images. One of the ways I did this was to avoid heavy tree trunks in the background and only utilize the delicate branches, which filter the light and add softness to the background. The session was fun and relaxed, and I loved capturing each of the relationships in this gorgeous family (although images of motherhood are always admittedly my favorite!).
