From Allison:
I began my business way back in 2009, when I had this deep down feeling that I would never feel fulfilled in work unless I pursued photography. I have a love for people and their stories and combining that with art and the creative aspects of running a business set a fire in my soul! The first 10 years of my business I primarily pursued weddings, and I loved everything about it. Once we had our third child, I knew my heart was to be at home more, which is when my passion slowly transitioned to photographing newborns, families, and maternity. I love how I can still be a part of milestones in my client’s lives while also being more regularly present with my young children.
Seeing women marvel in their own beauty and the beauty of their families lights my soul on fire. I love encouraging women and pointing out their beauty during sessions and seeing their demeanor change; they often become more confident and joy-filled throughout a session. Motherhood can be such a challenging journey, and I am passionate about how photographs can truly bring out the beauty of the season, even in the mundane moments.
My clients had gone through a devastating and painful loss of a baby, and this baby boy was an absolute miracle of life. Throughout their time of grief, they were also working to renovate their 1950s home to create their dream home, and it was finished just weeks before their baby boy Holden was born. She came to my studio to try on dresses from my studio wardrobe, and found one that was absolutely perfect on her. On the day of the session, my hairstylist did her hair at her home prior to my arrival, and she looked absolutely stunning! Their home was a dream to photograph in, with the perfect nooks at every turn for photographs. After the session, she described the photographs as her “most prized possession in the world” which is the greatest compliment she could have given me. She also said she felt more pampered than she did on her wedding day! It was truly a delight to get to know their story and celebrate with them their baby boy and photograph them in the home they planned out and dreamed for so long.
