Ready to Switch to Family Photography?

From Weddings to Portraits...

How can you go from making thousands per wedding, to photographing portraits and still stay profitable?

Have you asked yourself this question as a wedding photographer? If you're like MOST wedding photographers, you probably have! If you're making a few thousand dollars (or more) for weddings, why would you even consider switching to, or adding, portraits?

Here are a few reasons:

1. Work less & make MORE

2. Get your weekends/family time back

3. Less wear and tear on your body

4. Portraits are less likely to be cancelled/rescheduled in today's world

WORK LESS, MAKE MORE

Let's say an average wedding day for you is 8 hours. You might even include a complimentary engagement or bridal session, too. To keep numbers easy, let's assign that a $4,000 price tag. What if you could photograph ONE portrait session for $2,000, $4,000 or even more? Think about this: you could photograph 4 weddings per month at $4,000 each (16,000 total) or 8 portraits (2 a week) per month (16,000 total). You make the same amount of money shooting 8 portraits per month (about 1-2 hours) vs 4, 8-10 hour wedding days in a month. Not to mention the engagement or bridal session too.

NOW WE KNOW WHAT YOU'RE THINKING...

"I could NEVER charge $2,000 for a portrait session"

Yes, you absolutely can. So many of us are charging that and more. The founders for The Motherhood Anthology are regularly making $3K, $4K, $5K+ on portrait sessions with a $2K minimum. You just have to learn HOW!
