About the Session:
I’ve been working with the Cook family since 2018 when their first baby was just a few months old, but have known Mom since we were freshman in college. Time, of course, has passed since then, but their love has grown as I’ve seen them go from a family of three to a family of four and eventually a family of five. With each session, these clients quickly became more like an extension of my family.
For their newest baby, the family wanted to do a beautiful in-home newborn session. We chose the couple’s bedroom for the location since it was neutral and cozy. It was the perfect choice because the light was stunning and the older kids felt comfortable there, so we got some great photos of them. I especially loved the shot of the mom laying down on the bed with the baby on her lap and her daughter climbing on her. It sums up motherhood perfectly.
This year, we embarked on a spring session together as it’s a great time to get outside and capture updated images of the family. They truly value the art of photography and have framed images from each of our sessions together in the home, including some of the images featured here.
