I'm Rachel, a film photographer in Australia - offering natural, light-filled maternity, newborn and family photography in Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula, Surf Coast and beyond.
About the Session:
This Barwon Heads beach maternity session was all sorts of magical! We were blessed with beautiful light, dunes covered in pastel green seagrass, sand of the softest variety that your feet will sink into like a warm embrace. The expansive beach overlooks the stunning coastal town, Ocean Grove making for a stunning backdrop. As the sun set into blue hour, we headed down to the water's edge to make the most of that gorgeous blue toned light. My shutter speed was a 60th sec but these turned out to be some of my favourite images.
Whilst enjoying the fresh coastal views and breeze, we chatted about how important it is to document these days. Capturing this Mama's journey to parenthood is not just about today (although that is incredibly wonderful!), it also means we're also creating a visual diary for the generations to come. These images are also for her future kids and grandkids, a peek into the anticipation, laughter, and love that marked the beginning of their family story.
