Bio:

My vision for this session was to capture the warmth of the short wildflower season at Rowena Crest, a viewpoint along the Columbia River Gorge just outside of Hood River, Oregon. This particular location in the Columbia River Gorge is about an hour and a half from my home in Portland. Since we photographed this in the early spring, I drove through an intense downpour the whole hour and half, until just ten minutes before hitting the viewpoint. Once we arrived at Rowena Crest, the sky cleared, and we were able to take in the incredible beauty of the wildflowers.
I styled mom with a dress from SSP's Client Closet, chosen to complement the warmth and softness of the landscape. The client, Mallory, is the younger sister of my best friend, so we've known each other for decades. It's been incredible to watch her grow into a kind, gentle mother of her two boys. She's a homeschool mom like myself, and also balances that with running her own personal trainer business. When they announced they were expecting their third child, I was so excited to create their first family portraits in this epic location.
